Trust & transparency
If you are weighing up an engagement, whether that is compliance and risk advisory, a lecture or workshop, help building a learning programme, or a commissioned piece of writing, this page sets out how I work, what I am and what I am not, and how I look after your information. No jargon, no small print you have to squint at.
The things a careful client checks before they hand over a brief, answered up front.
I have lectured and advised across management, compliance, governance and risk since 2013, alongside running real businesses. My doctoral research is on how organisations turn learning into practice, so the advice is grounded, not abstract.
Claims are sourced. I do not plagiarise, I do not dress up a guess as a fact, and where the evidence is thin I say so. You can check the working.
What you share stays with me. I do not discuss your organisation with anyone else, and I am happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement before we start.
You deal with me directly, from the first email to the final deliverable. No account handovers, no junior you never met doing the actual work.
Scope, fees and deliverables are agreed in writing before any work begins. No surprise clauses, and no guarantee clauses I could not honestly stand behind.
I work across the United Kingdom, the European Union and Malta, and read them against each other, so advice is tuned to the jurisdiction that actually governs you.
Honest by design
I am an independent adviser, lecturer and writer. I am not a law firm, I am not an awarding body, and I am not a training product. Being clear about the edges of what I do is part of doing it well, and it keeps you from paying for the wrong thing.
How the advisory worksThe same simple path, whether it is advisory, a lecture, a learning programme or a piece of writing.
You tell me what you need and roughly when. I come back on whether I am the right fit, usually within a couple of working days.
A short conversation to pin down the real objective, the audience or the risk, and what a good outcome looks like.
A written note setting out the work, the deliverables, the timing and the fee. Nothing starts until you are happy with it.
I do the work, keep you updated, and show the evidence behind it. Plain language throughout, at every level.
A clear handover, answers to any questions that come after, and an honest view on what, if anything, is worth doing next.
Your information and your data
I take data protection seriously, which you would hope from someone who advises on compliance. Here is the plain version of how your information is handled, with the full detail in the privacy notice.

No. Advisory work is tailored to your organisation and its situation, but it is not legal advice and it does not replace your regulator's own guidance or, where you need it, a qualified lawyer. Where a question is really a legal one, I say so.
Yes. I treat everything you share as confidential and do not discuss your organisation with anyone else. I am happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement before we start.
No. I do the work to a professional standard and I am honest about what advisory, lecturing or writing can and cannot achieve. There are no guarantee clauses, and I will tell you when something will not work.
Yes. I work across all three and read the systems against each other, so advice is tuned to the jurisdiction that actually governs you rather than a generic version.
I advise, design and teach. Where you need training delivered as a finished product, or a formal accreditation route, I point you to the right provider rather than pretending to be one.
Use the contact page to tell me what you need and roughly when. You will get a straight answer on fit, scope and how the work would run, usually within a couple of working days.
