Business management
Strategy and competitive positioning, organisational behaviour and culture, operations, and leadership and decision-making under uncertainty. How firms are built to decide well, and why execution usually beats a clever plan.
Lecturing & speaking
I lecture and speak on business management, economics and public policy. The style is practitioner first and evidence led: real decisions, current examples, and frameworks a group can put to work straight away, in plain language throughout.
Three connected fields. I teach each on its own, and I teach the ways they pull on each other, which is usually where the interesting decisions live.
Strategy and competitive positioning, organisational behaviour and culture, operations, and leadership and decision-making under uncertainty. How firms are built to decide well, and why execution usually beats a clever plan.
Micro and macro foundations applied to real choices: prices and incentives, competition and markets, growth and productivity, and the economics that sits underneath every policy debate. How to read the numbers without being fooled by them.
How policy is made, funded and evaluated. Regulation and its costs, institutions and accountability, and the discipline of judging a decision on whether it works rather than how it sounds.
Full modules or single sessions at higher-education level, built to a syllabus and pitched to the group in front of me.
Talks and panel contributions for professional, industry and public audiences, shaped around the theme of the event.
Interactive sessions for teams and cohorts, designed backwards from one clear outcome the group should walk away able to do.
Course and programme design, and preparing other people to deliver it, for training that needs to scale beyond one room.
Briefings for leadership teams on a specific economic, strategic or policy question they are weighing, with the trade-offs laid out.
The same sessions delivered live online or hybrid, for audiences across the EU, the UK and Malta where travel is not practical.
What you can expect
Every session is built for the people in the room. I ask what they already know, what decision they are trying to get better at, and what success looks like a month later, then design around that. The tone is warm and direct, the examples are current, and the working is always shown.
