Lecturing portfolio · Updated September 2026

More than a decade teaching management, at university and professional level.

I have lectured and examined since 2013 across universities, business schools and training providers in Malta, the United Kingdom and Luxembourg. I teach as a practitioner: the decisions a manager actually has to make on Monday, in their jurisdiction, at their level of authority.

How I teach

I teach the decisions a manager actually has to make on Monday, in their jurisdiction, at their level of authority.

At least a third of every session is applied: case studies, scenarios and worked examples, not a read-through of a statute.

How I work with a cohort

Teaching, examining and course design, delivered to a consistent standard.

Delivery

Diploma, degree and Masters level

Lectures and accredited award delivery in Malta, the UK and Luxembourg, in person and online, for academic, corporate and in-house cohorts.

Assessment

Supervision and examining

Dissertation supervision and examining to Masters level (MQF Level 7), plus setting and marking assessment against clear criteria.

Design

Curriculum and module design

Learning outcomes, module structure and applied exercises built to the level descriptors, with quality assurance and external evaluation where the programme is accredited.

Method

Applied, not lectured

At least a third of every session is applied: case studies, scenarios and worked examples. I name the source, date the position, and keep law separate from guidance and opinion.

Standard

Practitioner, above level

I teach what I have done: run the project, owned the budget, held the compliance file. For accredited work I hold a qualification above the level I teach.

Sectors

Regulated and demanding rooms

Financial services, remote gaming, corporate and professional services, hospitality, regulated SMEs and the public sector.

Credentials

The record behind the teaching.

For compliance and management training delivered to an organisation as a programme, see my lecturing and learning support page. The full record of education and publications is on my CV.

Programmes and course design

Beyond delivering a module, I design the curriculum and the assessment behind it.

Blueprint design

Compliance and risk, award to degree

I have mapped compliance and risk management as a laddered programme, from a short award through to degree level, aligned to the national level descriptors, so a learner can climb without leaving the subject.

Sector tracks

Built for the room in front of me

Sector-specific tracks that take a practitioner from essentials to advanced practice, for regulated industries such as financial services and remote gaming, where the rules are the job.

Supervision

Dissertations to Masters level

I supervise and examine dissertations to Masters level (MQF Level 7), set and mark assessment against clear criteria, and sit as an external quality assurance reviewer.

How I assure quality as a lecturer

Teaching well is a discipline, not a talent. I hold myself to the same standard I would set for anyone teaching alongside me.

Practitioner

I teach what I have done

Managed the team, run the project, owned the budget, held the compliance file. The examples in the room are real, because I was in them.

Above level

Teach above the level I teach at

For accredited work I hold a qualification above the level of the cohort. It keeps the teaching ahead of the material rather than level with it.

Applied

A third of the room is doing, not listening

Case studies, scenarios and decision exercises, with the source named, the position dated, and law kept separate from guidance and opinion.

Curriculum and assessment I have built

Beyond delivering a session, I design the programme and the assessment behind it, to the level descriptors.

Programme design

Laddered, award to degree

Curricula that let a learner climb from a short award to degree level in one subject, mapped to the national level descriptors.

Assessment

Set, marked and moderated

Assessment written to clear criteria, marked consistently, and reviewed externally where a programme is accredited.

Supervision

Dissertations to Masters level

Supervision and examining to MQF Level 7, plus a seat as an external quality assurance reviewer.
